‘You can only lose what you cling to.’ ~Buddha
Belief in the above statement is going to make our life much simpler and easier.
First of all, I would love to express my thanks to all the readers of my blog – A big Thank you to all of you. This is my 50th blog post and I am as excited to write as I was when I started off more than a month and half.
The journey of writing has been a combination of happiness, joy and not so many happy moments. With close to 50 blogposts to my credit, at times I feel at a loss when it comes what is it that I need to write. I have been and am still a big fan of the great Leo Babauta who is the founder of the minimalism blog and who also writes wonderfully about life and happiness. Thanks Leo for initiating me into this superb world of writing where I am just like a child penning all my thoughts and ideas. Though, I have not seen you personally, I am sure we have a connect and that’s why I thank you profusely from the bottom of my heart.
Now coming to the topic of additions. I had been a great fan of additions in school, college. Yes, with growing up, we love to add things, accessories, clothes, toys, shoes, bags and belts. With so much of stuff accumulating, it is now becoming a little tough to manage all these additions. This is when I realised that hey, subtraction is much simpler and easier. This means we subtract those possessions that are actually accumulating dust. We could give it to charity or to those people who truly need it. We can subtract stress, debts, depressing feelings, thoughts and the not so good events and happenings of our life.
When I embarked on this journey or the so called transformation, my level of accepting so many concepts was very low. I thought all this could be a good read, but just like a game of numbers, the more you read, the more you understand and incorporate it. But trust me, if you could make the beginning, you will surely make it till the finish as well. Try subtracting all those unwanted thoughts and feelings or feelings of jealousy, pride and you will feel much lighter. Clear away not only the physical clutter but the mental clutter too. When I just started blogging, I used to write and write, little did I realise that I need to restrict it to 00 words. See this is what I meant, I loved to add words.
Trust me for this Blogpost, I have so many ideas and thoughts in my mind, but I am going to subtract those words and going to write not more than 400 words, but the writer in me has managed to hit 550 words and I am going to improve in the next blogposts.
Have a great day folks! May you always remain blessed!!!
Luv and blessings always
Rekha
P.S.: Lastly, subtraction brings about clarity and you have a lot of time and space which is important in today’s life.
