Why even the feeling of being in love is BLISS and BEAUTIFUL

Yes LOVE is such a beautiful thing and being in love and feeling loved and loving someone is so very special.   I am sure everyone would have fallen in love atleast once for sure and the feeling of being in that state of bliss can be absolutely heartwhelming.  Love has many forms -  love for family, kids, love for your spouse – it could be anything.

Care for someone is a form of love, doing things for someone is love, receiving a call from someone you never expected is love.  Someone coming back to you after so many months and asking about how you have been is love.  When you see a text message from someone after a long time and if it brings a smile on your face, it is something called as love for that person.  A text message as simple as “I MISSED U” is love.

At times, it may not be possible for us to define certain relationships.  These relationships may not necessarily be given the name of love but it certainly holds an important place for you in your heart.  You and the other person knows it for sure.  Make sure to express your love to your kids, your family, your parents, your in laws and if you are in a relationship with someone, express it out.  Don’t let the relationship dangle. It serves no good for either of you.

I have heard a lot of people using the term “The chemistry is very strong”. What chemistry are they talking about here?  It is that strange feeling of comfort that two people share with each other.  He or she likes you just the way you are without any judgements or being judgemental. At times, even when there is no verbal communication going on between two people, even simply looking at your love speaks volumes for each other.  Just being with each other and enjoying each other’s company is love. If you are able to seek a partner who is also your best friend can be truly blissful.  Yes, I AM BLESSED !!!

So keep loving, it is not bad to fall in love more than once as long as it is healthy.

Luv u all beautiful people !!!! Happy Dhanteras and wishing you loads of lov, prosperity and good luck !!

Why cleaning is like meditation for me – How It Peps Me Up???

I know many of you would find the above heading quite absurd, but just the other day, I was going through some write up on meditation.

The definition clearly stated that meditation is any activity that brings you joy and happiness when you do it and it sort of peps you up.   For some singing may be like meditating and for few of you, it could be painting.  Though, I love singing and painting as well which are few of my other hobbies, the very thought of having a clean and fresh home is something that actually brings a smile to my face.

It feels dirty and unhealthy when we have a lot of mess in our homes so get started with some basic cleaning as we anyways have Diwali around the corner.  There will be a lot of unwanted stuff that you may not even be using.  Try and get the clutter out and make space. I have observed that when the cupboards and shelves are packed to the brim with stuff that I am not even using or I have just managed to accumulate stuff more than is required, it actually makes me feel suffocated.

With space around, there is space for breathing for sure.  The thought of completing the cleaning of my home and keeping things in the right place sort of gives me a high and when I sit back and catch a glimpse of the tidy room, I feel so happy. I know many of my friends will know this for sure.  Another thing that we could do when we are actually cleaning our home is to put on some music that we like and go about with cleaning  room by room.  If you are tired, take a break, make yourself a cuppa koffee and start again.  I enjoy doing this.

If you are of those spring cleaning types like me, then of course there will not be much of cleaning.  Women are into multitasking nowadays and it leaves a little time or no time absolutely for regular cleaning.  But what we could do is to set aside atleast 10 mints on a weekly basis as there is a lot of clutter that we could then avoid.  It makes things easier for us and we feel good that we are doing this.

Next time, when you are thinking of buying something, just pause, take a second and think if you have space for it in your closet or cupboard. If no, then try disposing off something or give it to charity before you allow any new item to make way into your closet.

Luv u all and happiieeeeeeeeee cleaning !!!!!!!!!!

Take a Chill Pill – Your body is asking you to go SLOW

We understand a number of things that are spelt out in our life and also advise people on how we need to live our lives.  I did that, so I want to share what I feel so that we can slowly start making changes in our lives and make  it more healthier and happier.  With a lot of awareness about physical and mental health that is catching up, I am sure many of my friends will be able to relate to it.

When it comes to our body, we somehow tend to simply ignore the signs that our body sends out.  The body is actually telling us to take a chill pill and go a bit SLOW.  That’s all it is asking.

Believe me, our body is the most precious thing that we can call our own.  It is not going to let you down whatsoever, but when it is being abused (sorry to use this term) without any thought, it slows down. Here physical abuse implies overeating, overworking, overdrinking, not sleeping enough and not giving the body enough rest.   There was a point in time, when I overworked for no reason.  The fast pace that we tend to follow thinking that there is tough competition and we will be left behind the rat race is actually playing havoc in our lives.

The world is not going to come to an end, if you are not able to get that promotion or are not able to buy that new sedan that has been recently launched. Life is still going to continue and no one is going to hang you for not buying these luxuries.  Your family is not going to stop loving you, so don’t feel guilty. Let’s get a little slow and follow the soft and happy rhythm of life.

Have you ever gone in a Rajdhani train?  The super speed of the train is worth appreciating and it covers a big distance, but when we actually try and see out, we are not able to form clear images of the beauty outside.  Our life is exactly like this, when we tend to move superfast in our life without pausing and thinking and simply moving on, we tend to miss out on all those beautiful moments and precious incidents in life.   Initially, it may be a little difficult to slow down the pace all of a sudden, but try putting the hand brake once in a while and see how things are transformed. You will feel lighter from within and less stressed out.

So, try going a little slow, you will see beautiful things passing by your way which you had never seen before.  Enjoy the JOURNEY !!! Trust me, it's worth it.

Luv u all so much

Our brains are already working overtime!! There is no room for EGO here

Yes these three alphabets E, G, O when joined  (EGO) truly can make life miserable if you hold on to it for no reason.  It’s not going to get you anywhere and you will start losing out all those wonderful moments and joyful times of your life.

Ego clashes have lead to so many unnecessary fights and misunderstandings that could otherwise have been avoided.  Come to think of it, do we actually have the time to let this EGO grow in our brain when our brain already is working OVERTIME?  The answer is NO.  Coming to think of it, when our minds have a lot of unhappiness and we have a lot of negativity inside and are not happy with ourselves for some reason, it results in EGO.  You are inviting ego into your brains, homes, relationships, friendships and making it stay so long that you tend to become a slave to it.

We have been freed from the British long time back, don’t become a slave once again as it will only lead to internal WAR once again. Inferiority complex is yet another reason for this inflated ego.  The SUPREME POWER has created each one of us and each one of us is a masterpiece and we are not there for sale. So why feel inferior to anyone.  We are just like any other person or individual that has been created by this POWER.  Do not give away your power to EGO and allow it to rule.

EGO has a strange way of entering our lives, she is like the other WOMAN who can enter our life and make our beautiful family life miserable.  The beginning of ego starts with negative feelings about ourselves, depression, anxiety, anger, fear.  When you have these not so good feelings, just SMILE and ask it to leave.  EGO has no room in your home or brain.  You already have other beautiful things to do in your life.  Never ever feel down or pity yourself.  But we are humans, if at all it happens, make sure you do not lose hope.  You are still alive and are able to enjoy all the beautiful things that LIFE has to offer.

So LET YOUR EGO – GO………………
We are not going to allow it affect our life whatsoever.

Lights, Rangolis and Sweets UNLIMITED – The city is ready to get wedded!!!!

Diwali of Deepawali as we call is associated with happiness and oneness for most of us.  For me, it is ushering all the goodness and prosperity in our homes with our family, friends and relatives.  Not to forget the goodies that are prepared at home !!!

With Diwali just a week away, there is so much to do right from cleaning to giving away things to our maid servant.  I make sure to give away all those things which are simply lying in my home and which is not being put to any use.  In return, my help also feels happy as she would be getting to use those items. My daughter helps me with the spring cleaning, giving away clothes to the charity home that is just close to my place.

Just a walk to any street, you will find the traditional kandils (lanterns) of various sizes, shapes and designs.  Shops have been lit up and when you take a walk in the evening, you will find that the city is filled with lights and colours as if she is going to get married and there are so many people who have come here as baaraatis.  Even the feeling of all this makes me so happy.  Diwali is joy for me.

The colourful rangolis at my doorstep is done by my daughter who is definitely more artistic than me and with her by my side, I have nothing to worry especially when it comes to lights and rangolis.  It feels nice when you have a lot of people in your home especially at the time of festivities.  Like always, we make it a point to visit my parent’s home during Diwali with all the goodies as well as to seek their blessings.  So if you have your relatives and parents living close by, make sure to visit them as blessings are always welcome and we need them at every point in our lives.

Come Diwali, the most joyful and enjoyable thing for me and I am sure for most of us is SHOPPING.  All the shops display colourful attires from ethnic Indian wear to sarees.  When it’s Diwali, the attire has to be ethnic and traditional.  So make sure to go for all the colours and make your Diwali vibrant and beautiful.

Hug your parents and grandparents, tell them that you love them and how special it is to have them during Diwali.  Spend your Diwali in true sense with lights and try and avoid crackers (as they cause a lot of noise).  Let’s respect the true sanctity of this festival of lights and let’s not make is a festival of noise.  If you have excess money for your crackers, try to cut it down to half and you could always donate the rest to a charity home.  The kids there will love you for this and of course you will have the satisfaction of bringing a smile to their faces.

Lots of luv to all of U

Visualisation is tax free – TRY IT TO BELIEVE IT!!!!

Why is it that many of us are trying to be present at so many places perfectly knowing that we cannot be present everywhere.  The concept of multipresence is not possible and believe me it will be difficult for us to be present everywhere. Instead of complicating our life, let’s try and be present in one place and be happy where we are. Let’s do justice to one person, that’s ourselves.  Let’s do one job perfectly, justice to one particular relationship and be happy.

This does not mean that we cannot dream.  Dreaming is such a beautiful thing and we feel completely good about ourselves.  It’s like entering our make believe world and we feel wonderful when we think of this fairy tale city that we create in our minds.  I feel so happy and good about myself the moment I dream and visualize things.  Visualisation is such a beautiful technique that is being taught my many self development gurus and it takes me on altogether different plane.  The power of visualization lies with me, it is left to me to visualize whatever I want in my beautiful life.  Be it an outing, a job, a relationship, everything can be visualized.  Simply clear your mind slate and write on it whatever you wish to write.  It’s so much fun and initially when I started doing it, it was fun and I was just trying to challenge it. But damn it!! It works – It really works – just try it, to begin with, you could just visualize a simple thing that you need to work on.  Our mind is so powerful that if you think it is your friend, it will never leave you.

With the tax authorities trying to tax each and every possible thing, the only thing that we need not pay tax on is our brain and the powerful visualization that comes with it. Our brain works continuously day and night selflessly and it’s so wonderful that it does not expect anything from us.  Simply believe that it will only work for your good and give you all that you desire.  For me, the brain is like a mother. A mother is the only purest soul who will understand what a child wants and when a child asks the mother, he or she has absolutely no doubt whether it will be given. When there is no doubt, things just happen the way you visualized.

So happy visualizing and enjoy this beautiful life ! It’s worth living and enjoying every minute.

Luv you all beautiful people and thanks to all my dreams

Justify less – Life becomes simpler and LIVABLE

I have realized that the more I try to justify, I am burdening my mind and brain for those things that are not so important.  The only person you need to justify your feelings and emotions is YOU.
Why is it that we want to justify why we did something or why we reacted in a particular manner which was not kind of “acceptable”.  Yes, things happen but it does not mean that you need to explain things to one and all.
Speaking to someone about your inner feelings and thoughts is different from that of justifying.  When you justify, it is like you are trying to gain sympathy or you could call trying to explain that what you did is right.  There may be times when we may not be right, but that’s fine.
We get tired at the end of the day and try to justify to our kids and family about how tired we are and how it is not your nature to get tired. We lose a game or a match and justify why we could not win it. We forget something important and try to justify why is it that we forgot. Simply accepting the fact that YES I TOO CAN MAKE MISTAKES makes things simpler and less stressful.
At times, when you are not fine and are feeling down or low, accept it, yes you can say it, but try and stop justifying. As long as you do not express and explain it, the other person is not even going to be aware of it and maybe he or she is not even interested in knowing it. So why waste your energy trying to justify.
People try and justify their job, work profile, finances, kids and so on.  There may be couples who may not be keen to have kids or there may be someone who does not want to do a full time job.  The choice is theirs and there is no need for them to justify it to the world outside.  It is their CHOICE completely.  Let’s allow people to be themselves as then you will be able to live life the way you want to or else your life will be wasted simply explaining things to others and waiting for their acceptance and approval.
So let’s destress, justify less and stop explaining things to the outside world.  Let’s be happy in our OWN LITTLE WORLD by doing things we like, eating things we want to once in a while, laughing aloud, taking a break once in a while ….. and of course also lazing around.
Signing off for now!!

Loving yourself without any judgements or bias – I LOVE ME JUST THE WAY I AM!!!

Loving ourselves is the simplest thing that we can do in this world. It is actually our first nature, but we tend to put it off for some reason, thinking that we would be selfish when we love ourselves first.

In many of the online sessions that I have attended, it has been taught that when people do not like to see themselves in the mirror, it clearly indicates there is an imbalance in the energy levels. Why is it that you are ashamed to look at your own beautiful face and body? Is it because you are feeling bad for something that you have done and are not able to look into your own beautiful eyes, if that is the case, then what you need at this point in time is to forgive yourself.

Who does not make mistakes?  Committing blunders or mistakes is very HUMAN, let’s accept that first. But carrying the burden of guilt all through your life will make you physically and mentally weak.  Try removing the cobwebs from your mind; it does no good to anyone. Another thing that we need to actually permanently tattoo in our minds is that to give out love, you need to first feel loved.  Even if there is no one to love you, it’s fine, as long as you love yourself, you do not have to look outside.  I can assure you that.

I have observed that there is some quality in each and everyone that is simply unique.  Just try figuring out what your unique qualities and talents are.  You are a complete MASTERPIECE that has been created in this LIFETIME by the Master.  Accept it that you are beautiful just like everyone around. This itself will make you feel confident and you will automatically attract people who will love you just the way you are – without judging anything.

Let’s make a small start today by loving all the beautiful and unique talents that we have.

I LOVE ME, I LOVE YOU ALL

Excess Baggage in Life is Charged –Not worth carrying it!!!!

Hi all you wonderful people - I could not be in touch with you all because I was on a short vacation – the much needed break.  It’s nice to be blogging once again.

When I was on this vacation, I realised the excess baggage that many of my co-passengers carried.  This gave me yet another topic to write on.  Excess baggage in the literal sense implies all those extra things that you carry when you are travelling. The same holds true when you are on the journey of LIFE as well.  Why should you carry excess baggage like the not so good memories, those moments when someone hurt you or when you were just not feeling good about yourself?  Isn’t it worth just forgetting and getting away with those memories as it actually drains your energy and makes you feel all the more low.

I tried this one little technique which is absolutely wonderful. The moment my mind drifts into few memories that drains my energy and lowers my happiness levels, I consciously make an effort to change that particular thought and I start feeling wonderful again. This definitely will sound a little tough initially, but when we consciously do it just like our normal breathing, it feels so simple. THIS TRULY WORKS.

Any excess that we associate ourselves with, be it overeating, overworking or overspending is the excess we will have to get over in our lives.  It results in chaos in our lives and this is not what we are here in this beautiful world for.

When we board the flight and carry any excess baggage, we are charged. The same principle is applied in our LIFE as well. Any excess that you carry in the form of hurt, guilt, jealousy, anger and bad feelings will be charged to us in the form of bad health, low self-esteem, depression and this is a much higher price to pay as compared to the money that you pay to the airport authorities when you carry the excess baggage.

Let us all try and eliminate the excess baggage. Whenever you feel bad about any person or have negative feelings, try changing your thought.  BLESS that person or that situation so that the negative gets converted into the positive.  Resentment is not good for our health and the health of the people who are in and around us. Our face is a mirror of our inner feelings and emotions and it automatically shows. So PLEASE try and get rid of this, it works wonders and you will feel SO SO HAPPY and WONDERFUL.

Luv you all .

Seeing beauty even in your little imperfections – YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL

Whoever thought that beauty and perfection were the same may not be right is what I feel. These are too separate qualities.  With a lot of media hype and internet awareness, many people now are aware of the latest trends in the fashion and beauty world.  Many of us try and want to ape all those models who walk the ramp minus the SMILE.  But take a minute, oh! Not even a minute, just take a second to practically think if we would be able to do that. I am not trying to discourage anyone who wants to do it, but c’mmon we need to be comfortable in our skin to do it. This is the same manner that the models would feel if they had to juggle home and office work (the way we do) not to forget, the smile which we have when we do all this. Yes, this simply means that one size does not fit all for sure.

I visited one of the malls last evening with an intention to buy some stuff for me and my daughter.  I happened to look round for something that would fit me when I saw one woman who was finding it difficult to choose something and she actually felt lost.  She happened to look at me and there was an immediate smile.  I smiled back and she came up to me to ask as to what she should buy as she was going out on a tour wherein she had to wear western clothes.  From the look of her face, I realized that never in her life she would have worn those clothes. We have grown up seeing out mothers and aunts dressed in the traditional Indian attire like the saree (six yard wonder) or the chudidar/salwar kameez.  We found them beautiful right !!! But with so many new ideas creeping our minds, we somehow want to ape or want to look ten years younger than our age.  There is nothing wrong in that for sure, as I myself would recommend everyone to try out new clothes and outfits, “As long as they suit us and they are comfortable to be in”.  We may end up buying outfits wherein we end up looking like a tent and this happens when we do not even understand our body type.

With a little confidence and the way you carry yourself, it is possible to look beautiful and even though you may not be perfect, you are simply good.  Trust me, there is only one YOU, no one can take your place and never underestimate yourself.

I tried telling the woman to go in for something Indo Western wherein she will not look completely out of place and she also will be able to carry it off well with her body type.  I was happy last evening that I could convince someone that SHE WAS BEAUTIFUL.

Love your body and treat it with respect.  She will never let you down and make you look as beautiful as you are both INSIDE OUT.

Choosing to be perfect in this not so PERFECT world

Why is that many of us (me included) want the Perrrrrrrrrrfect things in life?  Is it because we are afraid that we may not be accepted with our so called imperfections? What may be perfect for one person may not be perfect for the other, so then who is to decide what is perfect and what is not.  It is like the glass half full or half empty. It’s definitely a matter of attitude when it comes to seeing perfections of imperfections.

If you start seeing and appreciating yourself even with the not so perfect image, you will always be happy.  There may be people out there who will knowingly or unknowingly point out your imperfections and flaws, don’t bother.  This is the way they are looking at you.  Someone else may find you absolutely wonderful minus your flaws and find you brilliant. So what are you going to take in your BAG OF LIFE.  It’s better to only collect those experiences that make you feel wonderful.  Make sure you do not accept those not so good things which make you feel down and low.

Just take a scenario wherein you walk into the biggest mall and are shopping.  What will you like to collect in the shopping bag?  You will obviously want to buy only those good things that make you feel good; moreover, you are paying for it. No one will want to buy experiences and things that does not do any good to them. Our LIFE is like that. When you are on a journey of LIFE, you will come across a whole host of people, experiences, incidents and situations that may affect you.  It is left to you what you want to SHOP.

THE CHOICE IS YOURS – Don’t waste your time and energy and of course your beautiful life in thinking about incidents and situations that bring you down.  It’s definitely not worth it.  Dust it out from your slate of LIFE.

So shop for happiness, positivity, brilliance, good attitude, smiles, good health and prosperity, even if it means you have crossed your credit card limits.  It’s definitely worth it.

Shop now !!!! TILL STOCKS LAST

Let’s Be happy that we are ALIVE and still KICKING

A lot has been said about happiness and there are wonderful writers and blogs that I have read and understood about happiness and what one should do to be happy.  Even if I would have understood and related to even ten percent of what the writer wanted to convey, I will call myself lucky as I atleast have had the opportunity to chance upon their websites, blogs and writings.
It’s like doing your yoga and meditation. We know that yoga helps in keeping our minds and body healthy and free from ailments, but we also know for a fact that yoga does not give immediate results. Only when you do it consistently you will see results.  Similarly, many of the wonderful written works on life, happiness may not bring about instant results like our instant Koffee, but with time, it will slowly make its entry into our brains and soul.
I follow few blogs of Dr. Wayne Dyer and also am getting to know more through his online sessions. The one thing that impressed me is that as humans the need to feel HAPPY is the strongest amongst more than 90% of the crowd and that is indeed a huge number. When people were asked what they wanted most, many of the replies boiled down to HAPPINESS.
I realized that people want to be happy and most of them are, but we somehow are not able to see it.  Happiness cannot be touched, it’s a feeling and what you cannot touch is special – It’s like the Supreme power above, we know for sure that he is there around us and is able to hear us, but we can’t see him. These are few things that I am happy about in LIFE and I am sure many of you reading my blog post will also be.
A strong bonded family, friends, beautiful EYES to see the beautiful world around- the sunshine, sunset, beautiful flowers, all the wonderful movies.  All the five senses are so beautifully coordinated that we are able to see, touch, hear, smell and taste. Just imagine if we did not know what a touch meant, life would be so dreary. Taste is yet another wonderful sense, I could never do without all those panipuris and dahipuris that I gulp down. The wonderful  sense of hearing wherein I am able to hear all the wonderful and beautiful things happening around, wonderful songs, music, my daughter calling me out AMMA in her most innocent tone.
Every part of our body is so very special and beautiful, it’s just that we do not realise it. Just before you drift to sleep, just say a simple THANK YOU to your body for having helped you through the day. Believe me, your body is your greatest friend and treat it like one. It will remain true to its friendship.

Monsoons still kissing and romancing Mumbai – Love-struck !!!!!

Even though we are in middle of October, the monsoon has no heart to leave Mumbai and it’s been raining on and off in Mumbai, the last showers probably for this season.

When I was on my way to Bandra for shopping yesterday, I noticed a certain beauty and romance of the entire surroundings and a mystical serenity around when my car passed the Bandra flyover.  There was mild rain accompanied by a cool breeze and it felt as if the monsoon somehow is trying to romance the beautiful city of Mumbai.

I think Mumbai or for that matter any city is beautiful in its own way, it’s just that I felt serene and calm and beautiful from inside that reflected in the way I felt.  Somehow I was grateful to the supreme power for making me feel happy and good which is my current state of mind and pray that it always remains so.  I pray for everyone that they too remain in the same state of bliss, happiness and contentment ALWAYS.

There was slight traffic yesterday because many of them were shopping for Id which is today and I could see street vendors happily selling their products and not even for once you could get the feeling that they were suffering or not happy. They were happy in their own way and that is what is important.  Many amongst us may feel down at times, when we are not able to get the much awaited promotion, bonus, new gadgets for our home. Few years later when you think of it, you will feel all these to be trivial and may laugh it out.

Another thought that caught my attention was we feel so embarrassed to say” I love you” to even our spouses, kids, parents, friends and all those people who matter to us.  In fact, it feels wonderful when someone says I love you and there is a lot of positive energy that you are sending not only to the opposite person but it also engulfs us in the so called NICENESS in those three beautiful words. It just takes 3 seconds to say these 3 words to set things right-  if any of us are passing through “not so good times”. The time is RIGHT NOW.  So please say it with all your heart and don’t feel shy absolutely.

I love you all wonderful people and all of you matter so much to me.

Those of you who read my blogs, think of me in their prayers, love me, all those wonderful people who are in touch with me as well as all those people who are not in touch with me,  I STILL LOVE YOU ALL VERY VERY MUCH.

Did you have your dose of LAUGHTER today?

Read my blog post and only then scroll down to see what is in STORE!!!!!

It is true that laughter is the best medicine for all our physical and mental ailments.  A per statistical reports, laughter releases good hormones in our body and our body never goes on a strike.  It is said that even 20 seconds of laughter equals to 180 mints of rowing.  So if you want to live longer, not only longer but healthier and happier, laugh your way to good health.

When I was a child, I used to be amused and used to laugh at the drop of a hat. As I started growing up, someone mentioned that girls were not supposed to laugh so much, I used to wonder as to why something like laughter which is so natural and child like should be restricted.

I failed to understand but somehow did not want to hurt many sentiments.  Later, it so happened that my laughter slowly reduced and just some years back, the new laughter therapy came up. The same people who had advised me not to laugh so much had in fact joined laughter clubs which was a complete contrast to what they had sermoned. I guess even in that young age, I had realized that laughter can never be bad or demeaning.  It was my way of expressing my happiness and excitement, considering I was excited about even the small things that made me happy and smile.

Though, not much has changed about me, just that I am now a wife and mother and I am happy that I have not bartered my laughter for anything in LIFE.

Things are changing now for the better and the manner in which people are maturing over the years is worth appreciating.  So laugh and be happy.  In fact, whenever I get an opportunity to laugh, I ensure I never miss out on that. Make sure to go for movies that will bring back the child in you.  When you laugh, there will be so many people who will smile and laugh, just because you are doing it.

The very fact that many of us have the laughing Buddha in our homes is evidence that laughing sends out positive vibes in our home and we attract all the goodness of life. If something as simple as a laughing Buddha can bring so many good things, c’mmon we are living human beings who can display our emotions like laughing and create a positive effect in our homes.

So next time, you see something funny, please laugh, it will surely make you feel happy and healthy.

Lots of Luv and Laugher

My answer to a healing and healthy home – Get rid of the junk in your homes

All of us love our homes for sure.  It is our abode of calmness, serenity, peace – you may call it anything. It is a place where you come back after a hard day’s work and simply want to curl and relax.  We come back to our homes and we have our families as shock absorbers who are there to understand us most of the times.

With Diwali fast approaching we need to get geared up and make space not only in our homes but also in our hearts.  Try and get rid of clutter as much as possible as clutter can be quite a depressing thing.  Everytime I do the spring cleaning of my home, I feel completely rejuvenated and feel fresh.  It is important that we try and get potted plants at home. Greenery inside our homes can make our homes look fresh and inviting.  Moreover, when your home is cleaner, it also has a healing touch.

One thing that I ensure before going to bed and will also recommend is to avoid watching any kind of depressing and violent programs on television, the reason being, we tend to take back the last memories into our subconscious minds and if you have seen something that is not peaceful, then you will surely get up with a bad headache.  Don’t forget to do your 10 minute silence – just reminding you.

Make sure to always light incense sticks and if possible have fresh flowers at your entrance.  My grandmother always used to say that when you have a clean entrance with a rangoli, Goddess Lakshmi enters our home. She likes to enter homes that are clean and have a good aroma. So make sure to do these small things and you will see wonderful changes.  I feel wonderful doing all these little things as it gives me a lot of satisfaction.

So happy cleaning and get rid of unwanted stuff from your homes, there are hardly 3 weeks for Deepawali, make sure your home is clean and neat to invite the Goddess.

Buying a Confirmed ticket to the Happiness Station - 90 days of Advance Booking

I know the above heading must not be ringing a bell in your minds.  But it did ring a bell when I was travelling by the Thane local 7.34 a.m today.

I got into the local and settled down and was looking at the commuters around me. Few of them had still not got over the weekend and were half dozing, few of the college students were studying as though they had a marathon to run. Many a times, I have observed the students in such a state of panic and tension especially few days prior to the exam and all the more on the exam day.  This is exactly what happens with my daughter on the day of her exam.  Hey 1but coming back to the point –Happiness Station.

While I have 1800 seconds (one way) to myself in the train with a whole wave of thoughts and ideas making way into my brain, there are many things that interest me.  I was enjoying the cool breeze and humming a song to myself (as always) when suddenly I chanced upon this thought “What if there was a happiness Station” and what if all of us wanted to go there everyday.  Just imagine this hypothetical scenario and the crowd at the ticket counter of every station and queues of people lined up.

The counter staff asks “ Kahan jaana hai” – the people reply “Happiness Station”.

The staff replies “Abhi to ticket nahin hai”.  3 months ke pehle booking start ho jaata hai. Oh my God !! Even the thought is filled with tension because I have to wait for 90 days to go to that place. Not Fair.  Just like our outstation tickets, just imagine if we have to book travelling to the So Called Happiness Station couple of months in advance.  If that was the case, many of us (me included) would not mind spending double the cost of the ticket, pay the agent and still wish to get to that station.  Many of you like me will go a step ahead, buy a flight ticket so that we save on time, but our single motto would be to get there as quickly as possible.

Happiness is so very important in life and that is for sure. However, we cannot reach that destination without passing  many other stations.  When we travel by train, there are so many places that the train halts at and only then we reach the place that we have booked our tickets for.  Similarly, our destination to happiness will also arrive, provided we have the patience and do not overreact to situations in life.
So Get on the Train folks !!! Bookings for the Happiness Station have begun JUST NOW. Book your tickets and BE HAPPY.

Hugging – The high potency multivitamin, free of cost

Everyone loves to be hugged!  This is absolutely true and if someone is denying it, it simply means that they have never been LOVED in their life.  But it is still not too late, you can definitely hug someone and make them feel special.  A bear hug is something that is absolutely wonderful and it surrounds our entire physical as well as mental body with lots of positive energy.   I feel completely energised when my daughter hugs me and I am so happy and feel good.  It helps us stay connected and it is simpler to connect with her and this is more so if you have teenaged kids. When we are infants and growing up, our parents have hugged us and kissed us.  Why is it that when we grow up to be parents, we tend to somehow forget our aged parents and it is on very rare occasions that we even touch them.  Knowingly or unknowingly, we are not too physical when it comes to showering a kiss on a simple hug.  Considering the Indian society we are living in, hugging and kissing is not in our culture, but don’t you think it is wonderful to kiss and hug our parents. The reason is more scientific, the potency of the positive hormones that are generated in our body are 1000 times more than the 1 multivitamin tablet that our parents gulp down.

I realised this few years back and made it a practice to hug my parents and my inlaws as well.  I feel they become child like when they are hugged and they get emotional about it.  The reason is that they are feeling so good about that special touch and love. Express your love with hugs, it definitely comes free and you will be happy you did it.  It is never too late to begin, I can assure you that.  In the beginning, you may feel a little out of place, because you have never done it.  But TRUST me, you too will feel good about it.  So you could simply begin by holding their palms and then later it becomes much easier and simpler.
I remember when I was a school going kid, my father used to carry me and I have several of those black and white memorabilia photographs with him.  This time, when he had come home, I kissed him on his cheek and he was like a child smiling and he actually felt shy that I did it. But I was happy as I could sense that he felt good for some reason. The reason was that he felt protected and secured.

When was the last time you hugged your parents?  Think about it.  If they are far away from you, I can understand, but if they are just around you, don’t waste time.  Even couples nowadays are so engrossed in their work life that they hardly get time with each other, make it a point to hug your spouse atleast once because she or he truly needs that hug during moments when they are down or not feeling good about themselves.  It could help them get closer over the years, and your kids also indirectly learn that hugging is healthy and it spreads joy and happiness.

So happy smiling and hugging, love your parents just the way they are, don’t try to change them and if they happen to throw tantrums, just be a little more patient.  They have shown tons of patience when you were growing up.

I love you all wonderful people so very much.

My KitKat Break from Complaining

Yes, truly I love to take a break from complaining at times, though I am not one of those constant complainers.  Generally, my hormones are truly in sync with my thoughts and feelings and it is on rare occasions, that they too give away. Guess, they too need a break. This happens when my mind has overworked and it truly wants to just GO SLOW.

I have heard a lot of talks and read a number of blogs on going slow.  Initially, when I was not a blog maniac as my current designation stands to be, I used to laugh at all the written content, not even having inkling that someday I too would be joining the bandwagon.  I am sure many of you are currently experiencing the same feelings after reading my blogs.  But the very fact that many of my friends and relatives wait to read my blog posts is clear evidence they are joining the team of blog maniacs, so welcome to the MAD WORLD.

It is also a fact that even the happiest of people can at times be a little complaining.  I began to see reason and found out that many amongst us actually love to complain.  It gives many amongst us that little leverage and it actually boosts us up. We tend to want pity from people around us and it is like the joy that kids get when they have the 2 minute Maggie in front of them. The need to be heard is what everyone seeks out for.  I believe that it’s absolutely human to complain, so we need not feel so bad about it for sure.  We want someone to hear us out and want a shoulder to cry on at times. In fact, if this is going to be a one off thing it’s fine. But if it is going to be a daily affair just like breakfast, lunch and dinner, it could drain you off and also the people around you.
Few years back, I started reading books on happiness, life, relationships, positive thinking and self development and somehow began to relate to it and it did make sense.  With more years of reading added to my credit, I am now able to relate to and it has truly helped me a lot.  At times, if you have someone to share your negative thoughts, it helps and I should definitely mention here that yoga, simply sitting in silence even for 10 mints daily helps.  Though I am a bit irregular in doing the 10 minute silence practice nowadays, I intend to get back to it as it truly helps me slow down.  I will definitely recommend the book by Joseph Murphy –The power of your subconscious mind for those people who intend to make changes in their life.  Think of me when you see a kitkat and eat it too.

So go a bit slow and see wonderful things happening. There will be fewer occasions where you would be complaining and many more instances for you to feel good and happy.

Signing off for now

My everyday date with Cuppa Koffee – How it helps me in my everyday life

Yes, you heard it right ! I love my Kapi (in Tamil), Koffee.  The wonderful coffee mugs with beautiful sayings written on it makes me smile. In fact, I like to spell out Coffee as Koffee (just because it makes me feel 10 years younger).  I know it sounds out a little weird, but that’s how I can become if I don’t get my filter kapi first thing in the morning.

There are many of us here who will agree with me, be it chai or koffee till we hold it in our hands, we do not get geared up for the day ahead.  This is more so for the homemaker, the working woman of course, both of whom have either their cuppa chai or koffee and begin their day with gusto.

Yes, you can call it addiction, but “itna addiction toh fine hai boss”.  When I have my coffee, there are so many thoughts taking place in my mind, few thoughts that keep pouring in because I have chosen to live with them, thoughts that have made me feel not so good at some point in time. These are thoughts that I have fed my mind with and the result being that it made life look truly boring and uninteresting, which is not the real me.

I chanced on this coffee mug the other day at a mall that had this beautiful saying “Letting go of the not so good things will make you feel lighter and happier”.  It instantly hit my brain and it rung a bell in my mind saying “  Rekha, this is something that you should not miss out on”. This mug reminds me that I need not hold on to feelings and emotions that are not doing me any good. It’s actually pulling me and holding me back which is the total opposite of me. This is how I started letting go of all the old and unproductive thoughts.

Bad thoughts and emotions are like stale food in our refrigerator.  Will we eat food that has been stored for a month or a year, forget a month a year, we will not even be able to eat food that was prepared and stored a week back.  It will surely make us sick and unhealthy and we will surely land up in the hospital. Just imagine how much care we take of our physical body. So then why is that we subject our beautiful mind to this torture? Why do we choose to hold on to stale thoughts that are doing no good not only to ourselves but also to people around us.
I have discovered that when we are able to let go of anything that is stale and redundant, it shows on the face and in our life.  It is all about taking the first step and that is by letting go.  Never choose to stay with thoughts of hurt, jealousy, depression as these will eat up your mental health.  It may appear to be a little difficult to incorporate all these things all at once and to bring about changes as the mind will definitely show some resistance.  But try doing one at a time and you will see the results showing up.

So folks ! Let go, keep smiling – it definitely makes things much simpler and beautiful and just look at the mirror, you will look years younger and of course BEAUTIFUL.

Signing off for now- Happy Navami and Dashami for tomorrow in advance.
